Grab your best mask, your beads, and your purple, gold, and green… It’s almost Mardi Gras! As New Orleans’ most beloved tradition — a joyous time to drink and eat to your heart’s content, and truly celebrate life — Mardi Gras draws over 1 million locals and visitors to parade through the French Quarter every “Fat Tuesday,” and all of us at Sunrise Homes couldn’t be more excited for this year’s festivities!

On March 5, Mardi Gras 2019 will commence with world-famous floats and parades from one-of-a-kind “krewes,” and of course, the best food, costumes, live entertainment, and music around. Sunrise Homes encourages everyone who can to experience this magical tradition for themselves and have a safe and fun time. Laissez les bons temps rouler! (Let the good times roll!) 

Early in the day, 5 parades in different areas of the city will kick off the excitement — the Krewe of Argus in Metairie, the Krewe of Zulu in uptown New Orleans, the Krewe of Lyra in Covington, the Krewe of Folsom in Folsom, and the Krewe of Chahta in Lacombe. Several parades will follow those that start, including the Krewe of Elks Jefferson and the Krewe of Jefferson in Metairie and the Krewe of Elks Orleans and the Krewe of Crescent City in uptown New Orleans, so there’s something special to see no matter where you are.
